REMEMBERING ROBERTO CLEMENTE
40 years ago today...
Major League Baseball tragically lost one of its best.
On New Years Eve, (December 31, 1972) while on a mercy mission to deliver supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua, Roberto Clemente died in an airplane accident.
He died the way he lived... Doing anything and everything he could to help make things better for others.
Ironically... On the last day of the 1972 MLB season... Roberto got his 3,000th hit.
Appropriately, he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame the following year.
40 years later... his spirit is as strong as ever.
