YOUR OFF TO PLAY IN COLLEGE
Congrats! Atta baby! Your off to play in college!
Getting accepted to college and having the opportunity to embark on your new academic and athletic endeavor is quite an accomplishment.
Getting into college is only the first step. Doing well is just as important.
You will be anxious to get started. You will have worries and concerns.
Mentally, keep it simple. Follow directions. Be a low maintenance player for your coaching staff and team.
BE A DIFFERENCE MAKER!
Do all the little things you already know to do. Be on time, be supportive of your teammates and set the standard for how hard you work and prepare.
Nothing is guaranteed. Not even for the full scholarship guys. I've seen many who were there in August and looking for a new school by Christmas.
In short, leave the program in better shape than when you arrived.
But whoa! It's not just baseball.
You have classes. You have to study to get the grades.
No grades, no play!
Getting good grades are not just important for staying baseball eligible either.
Keep in mind, grades and GPA are something that your future employers may look at and absolutely will be heavily considered when you apply to graduate, medical or law schools across the country.
Do the right things!
- Meet with a counselor!
- Utilize your resources and expand your social network!
- Choose the right living situation for you!
- Make studying a habit that becomes second nature!
Your embarking on a great journey. Lifetime memories and friendships will be made.
Enjoy and embrace the opportunity!
Be the "Unbeatable Man!" And have fun!!!
All the Best!
